King Mengwi I Gusti Agung Putu who is the founder of Mengwi kingdom that also has a close relationship with Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi also established a temple on the edge of Lake Beratan. The five temple complexes are; the temple of Penataran Agung became the place of worship of Tri Purusha Siwa namely Lord Shiva, Sadha Siwa and Parama Shiva, Pura Dalem Purwa as stana Bhatari Durga and Dewa Ludra, Pura Taman Beji as the destination of melasti ceremony and begging Tirta amertha, Lingga Petak Temple located in the middle of lake as the main source of water and fertility as the place of the goddess Sri and Pura Prajapati as the place of the goddess Durga.

The greatest religious ceremony is performed during the odalan or Pujawali which coincides on Tuesday (Anggara) Kliwon wuku Julungwangi every 6 months once (210 once) in the Balinese calendar.

However, on certain days such as Purnama, Tilem and other great Hindu festivals, many Hindus come to the joint praying ceremony, as well as the goal of the Melasti and Nyegara Gunung ceremonies in the Ngaben series.
